It's Miller Time

We are going to hear this phrase a lot now that the Blazer have signed Andre Miller. As I said before, I am not overly excited about this but I am not upset either. It's great that we can pick up a guy like this without losing anyone. From what I have heard I think he will be of help to us. I am hoping that it works out well with Steve Blake.

Hidden treasures...

This is simply a sweet treat:

Happy Friday

Bonus

Greg Oden looking very good.

I heard about this on my way to work today. As disappointed and frustrated as I am with Blazer management right now, there is no need to be anything but positive towards the players. They have all been working hard this summer and doing their part in keeping the Blazer train rolling towards a championship.

Greg Oden is practicing with Team USA in Las Vegas. Greg is looking quicker, stronger, and ready.

It's Brandon's 25th birthday...

I have gone over and over how much things have changed this last couple of years. No longer are we ridiculed for being Blazer fans. No longer do we hear cracks about "jailblazers". No longer are we getting spanked by lesser teams.

We are a model team. We are admired for our turn around, envied. We have been given names of honor not mockery. WE ARE WINNING.

This is true because of one guy and that guy is BRANDON ROY.

ENOUGH OF THIS INSANITY! Fans are beginning to have Steve Nash flashbacks.

ENOUGH is ENOUGH is ENOUGH! STOP THE POSTURING!

For the love of everything that is good and right in this world:

GIVE BRANDON WHAT HE WANTS!

Andre Miller?

Talk today is Andre Miller. I don't dislike the guy. However, the thought of having Andre Miller as a Blazer doesn't even interest me.

Sorry.

Who needs Hedo?

I am hearing more and more rumors that the Blazers want to make a move for Tayshaun Prince. I think Prince is the only player out there that truly makes a ton of sense for Portland. He is someone (and I really hate to say it) that I would actually be willing to give up Travis Outlaw for. I love Travis and love him as a Blazer, but this is a growth step that would be simply too good to miss.

I am all for it. If you can get it done K.P. JUST DO IT!

Here is a clip that says it all.

The heat's getting turned up on K.P.

Wow, it seems that frustration with Kevin Pritchard's activity this off season is beginning to simmer. Adrian Wojnarowski (whoever he is-some Yahoo Sports writer) has deemed K.P. a failure. Read it HERE

I heard this being discussed this morning on 95.5 and there seems to be some agreement with Blazer fans. I personally do not consider K.P. a failure and I have always applauded his prudent approach. I won't hold the Hedo deal against him. That situation couldn't be controlled. My problem is the whole idea of denying Brandon Roy.

I have voiced my agitation over the Brandon Roy situation. Yes, it could be out of Pritchard's hands and perhaps Mr. Allen is behind it. I don't believe that though. Paul Allen wants to win, he always has, he always will. One of the most important pieces to a winning formula for Portland is Brandon Roy, the fans know it, the league knows it, Paul Allen knows it, everyone knows it. Paul Allen is simply not going to say no to Brandon Roy. It is also not in Brandon's nature to ask for anything off the wall. It makes no sense that we are even having to have these conversations. Still, the bottom line is that it is Kevin Pritchard's job to get it done. So, with that in mind, I have to say that I too am seeing the allure of Prince Charming beginning to fade. K.P. better be getting something done soon or he's gonna begin feeling much more heat than what Yahoo Sports is dishing out.

It sounds like we won't get Paul Millsap either. I have heard that the whole top dollar offer was simply a ploy to create a situation where Utah has to spend big bucks to keep Milsap which would force them to trade Boozer. We want Utah to send Boozer to Chicago so we can grab Kirk Hinrich. I am not going to get worked up over this one until it seems more likely. I've learned my lesson. We'll see.

I am not surprised though. K.P. was a Jayhawk and he's had his eye on Hinrich ever since he was tapped to be GM. One thing about this, we would most likely lose Jerryd Bayless to Chicago. I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. I'm not devestated, but I am not excited either. This almost feels like "making a deal just to make a deal".

Has Kevin Pritchard lost his mind?

I am hearing this morning that Kevin Pritchard is actually baulking at giving Brandon Roy a 5 year contract?
K.P. wants only 4? Are you kidding? Sign him for 10 if you can!

We are down right lucky that Brandon is willing to stay here!

This can't possibly be true, but if it is, then as far as I am concerned K.P. has completely lost his mind. What is this, a power trip?

You simply do not do this to a guy who has single handedly turned your franchise around. You do not do this to a guy who has become a 2 time all-star. You do not do this to a guy who gives 110% each and every game. You do not do this to a guy that has represented you so very well.

I am absolutely blow away by this. Kevin, you may have brought Brandon here, but Brandon did the work that got us where we are, not you.

Note to Kevin Pritchard: GIVE BRANDON WHATEVER HE WANTS!

Don't you dare put a chink in our relationship with Brandon Roy, don't you dare!

Word in the streets is that Hedo Turkoglu is a dweeb

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised to learn that Hedo Turkoglu did a last minute 180 and decided to sign with the Raptors. These days it seems that a handshake is meaningless, and that is a shame. Hedo is only the second player to do this, the other being Carlos Boozer. What do you say? Not much other than it makes me glad to know that someone of such feeble character is NOT a Blazer. The Trailblazers have assembled a team of guys who hold themselves to high standards and high integrity-face it, a guy like Hedo doesn't belong here. I'm glad we found out now and not later.

Here's the confirmation: LINK

Good riddance Turkey Glue, don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!

Word in the streets is Hedo is a Blazer

I'm hearing that the Blazers have agreed to a deal (in principle) to a 5 year 50 mil deal with Hedo Turkoglu (Turkey glue) to some. I like the idea of having Hedo ont he team but I am concerned about chemistry. We have worked really hard to get where we are and fan lyalties are going to be with guys like Rudy, Martel, and Travis. Who are we going to have to say goodbye to to make the addition of Hedo work?

From what I know Hedo is a really nice guy and does not get into trouble. Everyone knows he's clutch. I don't think anyone would say they dislike Hedo as a person or a player. Blazer fans love the three and Hedo can drop a lot of them. I am very confident that for Brandon Roy this is a dream.

It's an interesting day for Blazer fans. Excited about taking the next step towards a championship and fearful about what it may cost us. These are growing pains I guess. I just hope we are growing in the right direction.

So, welcome Hedo to the Rose City and bring your earplugs, we Blazer fans like to make a lot of noise!

Take heart Blazer fans.

Greg Oden working hard

I read today that Greg Oden has been working very hard in Ohio & Arizona to improve his game. Not only is he working on his physical game, he's taking classes and working on his mind. This is an important balance that shouldn't be overlooked. The mind plays a very important roll in one's abilities and knowing that he is exercising his brain muscle is very good news. Other players should take heed. I would love to see stat comparisons of players who study academically versus only working on the physical. I'd bet in most cases there would be much improvement for those who studied.

I also noted that Greg Oden is working with Brian Grant. The Rasta Monsta will be a very positive influence on Greg. These two guys can do a world of good for each other right now. Bill Bayno and Jerryd Bayless are also with Greg. I am sure that Bayless and Greg on working on some nice team work. I'll be looking forward to seeing it.

Keep up the great work Greg! We all know you have a monsta of your own waiting to be released!

The Mariner game

I recently got to go to Mariner game at Safeco Field. It was really a great time. We sat nearly in the front row by the M's dugout. I got some really nice pictures. This is my favorite. I am guessing that this is the Mariner's version of hazing the new guy Chris Jakubauskus (Jack for short). Nice! The Mariner's are making a pretty good mid season push right now. I sure hope they get one against the Yankees. The rest of the pics can be seen at PictureTalk.
