Eight is Grrrrrrreat!

I'd say "unbelievable" but it doesn't fit. The Blazers play as of late makes an eight game winning streak very believable. The Blazers are playing pure team basketball and it is wonderful to watch. Nate looked like a proud papa at his post game interview. He should be proud. The Blazers are giving it all they've got and not making excuses. I have to wonder what might be going through LaMarcus Aldridge's mind right now?

No need to worry L.A., you are still needed. You will simply have a better support system and the team as a whole will be more versatile.

Nine will be fine! Indeed! I'll be there Wednesday. I'm looking forward to it.

GO BLAZERS!

Kudos to Brandon for being named the Western Conference player of the week for the second week in a row! Nice. Joel, dude, you're a gorilla!

Holy Cow!

The Blazers did it again! This time they were without both LaMarcus and Martell. Golden State pretty much had a melt down from the pressure. I think teams are being overwhelmed by Portland because they think of the Blazers as a less than formidable opponent. It's time to think again.

Brandon and Joel both deserve purple hearts for their recent efforts. Joel for taking a basketball in the face courtesy of Shaquille O'Neal and Brandon for taking Joel's size 17 foot (along with his body weight) to the chest. It's a miracle that neither has been hurt more seriously. The Blazers are playing hard nosed basketball and taking a stand. There is no way anyone could say that this team is not playing with heart. Watching this team grow is becoming pure joy.

I LOVE the contribution of James Jones! Travis has become invaluable. Let's not overlook the efforts of Channing Frye. I like him on the floor with Joel, it's a nice alternate to Joel and Aldridge.

I can't wait for the Christmas Day game with Seattle! GAME ON!

Speaking of Brandon Roy...check this out LINK.

Great Road Win!

Congratulations Blazers on a great game and hearty win in Utah. Playing without LaMarcus proved good medicine in bringing out the fight in the Blazers. It reminded me of the road trip the Blazers were forced to take without Rasheed. No one expected the Blazers to win. They proved everyone wrong. This is exactly what happened tonight in Utah. Playing without LaMarcus can only make the team stronger. Good job Blazers! Way to hang on when the game was slipping away. It is good to see Brandon finding his game again. I have to give Kudos to Travis and also "Blakey". Joel is a new man! Webster's shot is looking nice!

Jonesin' in Portland

Way to go Blazers! Beating Miami on national television was a great step in bringing positive attention back to Portland. Travis continues to improve. Lamarcus is going to be an all star. Brandon redeemed himself. The star of the night though has to be James Jones! 4 for 6 from behind the arc, impressive. He clearly could be an ace up Nate's sleeve. I was biting my nails when Miami got within one but the Blazers would have none of that. The sun is shining in Rip City today. Yeah! High fives all around today.

I want to address Shaq's cheap shot at Joel Przybilla. He in no way tried to avoid smashing the ball into Joel's face. That was not only dangerous but down right flagrant. This sort of action needs to be punished. It must not be taken lightly. Joel could have been seriously hurt. It was avoidable. I've come to actually like Shaq now that he isn't a Laker, so I am not speaking from a point of view tainted by a dislike of the guy. I simply think he took a cheap and dangerous shot and he deserves to be punished for it.

Kudos to Joel for going back into the game. It also made me smile to see Greg Oden eyeballing Shaq. He almost seemed to be calculating how he will attempt to make life difficult for Mr. O'Neal. I can't wait.

Keep Travis!

I have been wanting write about how great of a job I think Travis is doing. He improves with each and every game. This blog has only one mantra this year and it is the same as last year: KEEP TRAVIS!!! Travis is not dumb. Travis is not out of control. Travis is not the reason we are losing more than winning.
