Poll results-How many wins will the Blazers get?

It appears that 44% of the voters got this one right! I hope we can hit 42, but if Brandon doesn't return SOON, it's going to be very hard for the Blazers to do. I just want them to try.

LaMarcus Aldridge up for M.I.P.

Although it is now not so likely that the Blazers will be able to hit the 42 win mark, there is a bright spot. LeMarcus Aldridge is up for the Most Imroved Player award. L.A. would be the 3rd Blazer to receive this award. Since the All Star break L.A. has been averaging 19 points and 7 rebounds per game. His shooting is at 50.8%.

This is a huge improvement from last year. When you consider that LaMarcus is really just beginning to tap into his potential, you can again take heart that the future of the Portland Trailblazers is very very bright!

I hope LaMarcus gets this award. Others up for it are Hedo "Turkeyglue" Turkoglu ;), Danny Granger, Al Jefferson and Beno Udrih.

Greg, consider yourself spanked!

A Blazer is in trouble. Now before you start with all the "jailblazer" stuff and the "see, I told you's", take a chill pill and read on.

Greg Oden has been unable to play basketball for almost a year now. The kid is rehabbing from his surgery and it's no secret that he has healed quite well and is expected to come back stronger than ever. Recently Greg was cleared by docs to PRACTICE, your basic "light duty".

It seems he got a little over zealous and decided to try a few pick up games. That's a big NO NO. I agree Greg needs to be more mindful of the "risk" factor and listen up. I have no doubt that this public hand slap will be enough to keep him in line.

Greg, shame on you! ;) *wink*

Now, be a good boy and do as you are told.

I missed entering my bracket at Yahoo! I'm so mad! For the record, here it is. I had to guess due to the "urgency". Oh well, isn't that what we all do?

Oden practices with Blazers

The future is near. Greg Oden practiced with the Blazer team for 45 minutes today and he says he feels no pain. Brandon Roy expressed that Greg's presence onthe floor brought excitement back into the air. With the guys getting a fresh glimpse of what next year could bring, I expect to see this excitement carry over into these last 17 games of the season.

I'm hoping to see the Blazers go at least 8-9 from here on out. That would make my 42game prediction true. I certainly won't be upset to see them surpass that!

Greg may be practicing a bit but he is also taking it easy. He's learning plays and getting ready. This kid is so anxious to play, I pitty his first opponent next year!

*UPDATE* Well, I think things backfired. Perhaps the guys go too excited working with Oden and their minds got focused on next year and not the game at hand. ARGH! Lousy, needless loss.
