Blazers versus Sacramento Kings.

Tonight's game will bring a playoff atmosphere to the Rose Quarter. Whenever the Blazers and Kings meet up there is a marked rise of energy and NOISE. I guess it has become a bit of a rivalry. These two teams match up well. Four of the last seven games between Portland and Sac have gone into OT. It's going to be rockin' at the garden tonight.

The Kings have been struck by the injury bug and playing without 3 of their key scorers, Webber, Peja and Mobley. During this time, others have stepped up and carried the team. Bibby and Miller are both averaging 25.7 and 26 points respectively. Sound familiar? When the Blazers lost Zach and Reef, that is when Damon, Pryzbilla, Ruben, and NVE began their stellar play.

Both teams played and won last night. The Blazers slugged their way past Charlotte and the Kings had a heated (hopefully energy sapping) battle with New York. Webber, Mobley and Peja did not play. Speculation last night was that they all will play tonight. In our last meeting with Sacramento we were fighting injuries and we still managed to push the game into OT. The Knigs beat us 113-107.

I'd say the Blazers have a super chance tonight. Ruben will go to work on Peja should he choose to play. I think he will simply because Ruben downright embarrassed him last time, holding him to 6 points and shutting him down completely. Maybe he'll be too scared to take on Ruben again. We will need to see every Blazer at their best. I think we will.
Game Preview

UPDATE: BLAZERS WIN! What a great game! It was loud and very much like I thought it would be. The guys played great and made critical free throws in the final stretch. We are seeing the development of a TEAM, a very good team. I was pleased to see Zach passing more. I was extremely pleased with the free throw shooting! The Kings kept threatening in the 4th and the Blazers kept their cool and kept nailing free throws. Awesome! Damon is now leading the league from the stripe with a streak of 41 made. I am really enjoying what I am seeing from this team that has been through so much!

After the game I heard Webber say in a post game interview that the Blazers are the "most physical team in the league" and they totally "p*ss him off"! We got a good laugh off of that one.
