Blazers activate forward Viktor Khryapa.
The Portland Trail Blazers announced today that the club has activated Forward Viktor Khryapa from the Injured List. Khryapa has been on the Injured List all season after having foot surgery on July 28, to repair the injured Lisfranc complex in his left mid-foot. The injury was sustained in a Rocky Mountain Revue summer league game on July 16th when an opponent stepped on Khryapa’s foot. The original expectation at the time of the surgery was that Khryapa would miss the entire season with the injury.
The 6-9, 210-pound Khryapa was selected by the Trail Blazers in the first round (22nd pick overall) in the 2004 NBA Draft. He played two seasons with CSKA Moscow and averaged 6.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks last season. The 22-year-old Khryapa helped lead CSKA to the Euroleague Final Four in Tel Aviv, scoring 11 points in the consolation game against Montepaschi Spain. During his playing days in Russia, at age 19, he was the youngest player on the Russian National Team that competed in the 2002 World Championships in Indianapolis.

Hmmm...very interesting. Is this signaling a trade or simply that the guy is ready to play?
