Clyde Drexler promoting basketball in China.

I think the story here is not so much Clyde signing on with a Chinese company but that the company, Athletic of Fujian Province, is bringing the University of Houston's college team to play an exhibition game in China.

The NCAA is gaining strength in it's popularity and after the infamous "brawl" in Detroit, some speculated that it was time to promote the NCAA more than the NBA. This could signal the beginning of greater things for the NCAA.

"NBA Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler signed Sunday with a Chinese sports promotion company to become the first American NBA player promoting a Chinese sports brand.
Drexler, one of the 50 NBA Greatest Players, signed a two-year contract with Athletic of Fujian Province...

...The Athletics is planning to bring the Houston University basketball team, which was formerly coached by Drexler, to China for an exhibition game against of China's Collegiate Super League champions..."
