What are we going to do about Zach?

"...At the center of the mental breakdown was Randolph, who reverted to his tunnel vision of scoring two games after his teammates pleaded for him to pass more. Randolph touched the ball 16 times Wednesday and passed once -- which resulted in a dunk by Joel Przybilla.

Apparently, Randolph was unhappy about not getting the ball enough, and after he made a poor pass in the third quarter that resulted in a turnover, Van Exel jumped on Randolph during a timeout.

"Where's your head?" Van Exel barked. "Damn, we go to you every time."

Randolph tuned out Van Exel's ire, turning his head the other way during the timeout. By the time Cheeks reached the huddle to diagram a play, Randolph still was despondent, causing Cheeks to stop what he was saying and shake his head..."

Zach Randolph is supposed to be the foundation of our team. How can we be strong when he behaves like this? Just the other day he was saying that he was willing to do what the team needed, he said he was going to start passing the ball. I have to question Nash, Patterson and Allen in their team building decisions. Before them, it was Whittsit. It seems that no matter what players we have had or have these past 6? years, the Blazers never become a cohesive unit. With all Paul's money, you would think that we could land that one guy that would make the difference and be a true leader. It is getting ridiculous that the Blazer ship won't stay upright. If I were Paul Allen I'd be ticked that my money has been so poorly spent.

What has been consistent these past few years? Coach Cheeks has been here 3-is it him? Nah, Dunlevey had the same problems. Was it Sheed and Bonzi? Nah, they are gone and it continues. Was it Whittsit? Nope, "Patternash" has the same dilemma but only with a tighter wallet. Is it Damon? I don't think so since the same stuff happened when he was benched and it continues with NVE and Telfair.

I know all Blazer fans are grasping for answers. There is only so much that can be done.
1. change management 2. change coach 3. trade players.
Choose one or all but something has GOT to give and very soon. Of course, we could just ride this season out. Missing the playoffs really doesn't mean an awful lot when you end up bounced out in the first round. Still, even if this is what happens this season, major changes have to occur.

I suppose this is one of those phases a Blazer fan goes through when the team begins to show signs of an implosion. I'm not panicking. Blazer history tells me that a winning streak is forthcoming. Everyone will think we have turned the proverbial corner. Thing is, we keep going around the same block. It's frustrating, but I will still go to the games. I am still a fan. I will continue to support the Blazers. Thing is, the majority won't, and that is a big problem.
