Leave Him Alone

Think or say what you want. For me, the loss of Michael Jackson is brutal. I truly feel a sense of loss. Michael Jackson's music takes me back to my youth, back when life was more about fun than work. It brings a smile to my face and great memories to mind. How beautifully perfect is "I'll Be There" in that young and innocent voice?

The excitement of waiting for the Thriller video to be aired on MTV (this was well before we had any video or song we wanted at our fingetips-we had to do something called WAITING). I remember being so wowed by it I was on the phone for hours with my girlfriends afterwards. I also remember seeing the moonwalk for the first time when MJ performed at the grammy's. I was a roller rink rat and Michael Jackson's music was a big part of that as well.

Michael Jackson lived a life that no one but maybe Elvis(?) could understand. Fame comes with a price and come on, who wouldn't be a little weird and eccentric if you had to spend your life hiding? Elvis had his oddities as well.

There are certain people who's passing is felt worldwide. This is true of Michael Jackson. It's a testimony to his God given talent that he shared with the world. Yeah, there were accusations and questions about aspects of Michael's life, but I don't care. I didn't know the man personally so I can't make any judgements, especially if all I have to go on are story hungry talking heads. My sympathies go out to his family and his true friends, all of who are deeply devestated. That alone makes me believe the best of Michael Jackson. Certainly he wasn't perfect but he is deserving of acknowledgement and certainly, the very least we can do is say that we are sorry he had to go so soon.

Maybe now, finally, Michael Jackson can rest in peace.

For those of you who remember "Kingspeed" from BBB..you know who I mean ;)
His thoughts on MJ & Farrah: LINK I have him on twitter and found this there.

BTW-This is my favorite Michael Jackson song:

Last, but not least, THRILLER The video that changed everything.

You've heard the name, now watch his game: RUBIO!

I can't even imagine how much fun it would be to have both Rudy and Rubio on the floor at the same time. It would be a defenders nightmare!

Bet Phil is glad it wasn't the Blazers

It drives me nuts to see a team that the Blazer's routinely manhandle win a championship. We are better than them-period. I can not wait for next season!

I want a western conference show down between Portland and L.A. Bring it on!

Happy Anniversary Blazers...and me!

When we chose June 5th as a wedding date 5 years ago we had no idea what a significant day in history we had chosen. We are delighted to share this day with the Blazers! It was an against the odds win and that is just how we Blazer fans like it! It won't be long and we'll be back!

So here's to my sweet husband of 5 years and to the '77 Blazers who won it all on June 5th 1977!

Learning to lose.

When the Orlando-Cleveland game ended I was surprised to see LeBron head straight to the locker room. I mean, he did not acknowledge anyone. At first I felt sorry for him. You know, all the pressure to win and stuff. Then I thought perhaps he was hiding tears. It's possible. He's human and we all know how much he wanted to win. Somehow though, it just didn't sit right. This morning on my way to work I heard discussion about this and also learned that LeBron also skipped the post game conference.

When did LeBron James become Rasheed Wallace? Seriously, at least Rasheed faced the media and delivered his famous "both teams played hard" line. In light of LeBron's disappearing act, I'll give Sheed some credit.

I suppose this can be viewed as a learning moment. Do we have a spoiled brat on our hands? I have a feeling LeBron simply hasn't learned to lose. If this is the case, he needs to come to understand that it just isn't cool to not acknowledge a loss. The longer he goes without speaking about it, the worse it is going to get.

Grow up LeBron, there's no crying in basketball.
